For his return to Formula E, ABT does not come with empty suitcases. The German tuner, previously associated with Audi in the electric championship, has in fact confirmed that it will collaborate with Cupra. A partnership far from trivial since the two entities work hand in hand in Extreme E but also because the Spanish manufacturer has made electric its only condition for engaging in motorsport since it is also found in Pure ETCR.
« We are happy and also proud to have Cupra by our side for our return to Formula E, recognizes Hans-Jürgen Abt, boss of ABT, as his name suggests. Our two brands have enjoyed a close and successful relationship on the track and on the road for years, which today reaches a new level. We are looking forward to this new adventure and I am sure we will attract a lot of attention on and off the track."
Attract attention on the track with the results perhaps because with the livery the ABT-Cupra duo is not really likely to stand out from the crowd. The two entities presented the colors of their car and opted for a rather classic dark blue shade with green patterns. As for the drivers, Robin Frijns and Nico Müller will represent the team in the 2022/2023 season.
