Sébastien Buemi, one of the most successful drivers in Formula E with a CV consisting of 13 E-Prix successes, 29 podiums, 14 pole positions and a title in 2016, is looking forward to this new challenge. “I am very happy to join the team. It’s an exciting time to be in Formula E and I can’t wait to start driving for Envision Racing next season. I have always had a lot of respect for this team. They have done a great job maximizing results throughout the seasons. The new era of Gen3 is extremely important for the sport and represents a new challenge (…). My goal is to fight at the front, so I can't wait to start testing and prepare before the first race in Mexico. »
“With Buemi, we are sure to have one of the fastest drivers”
The team's general manager, Sylvain Filippi, expressed his satisfaction at attracting the 2016 champion into his net. “As a team we always aim to be as competitive as possible. With Sébastien [Buemi], we are confident that we have one of the fastest, most experienced and most ambitious drivers on the grid, which gives us great confidence for the new season. We believe that in Nick Cassidy we have two drivers who can help us challenge at the front of the grid and challenge for the team and driver championship titles next season. »
The Swiss driver will therefore only experience his 2nd team in 9 seasons spent in Formula E. Sébastien Buemi will continue his participation in WEC with Toyota with a double program.
