No, Jean-Éric Vergne will not finish the 2020/2021 season Formula E without pole position. The Pontoisian stood out as the fastest man in the first qualifying session of the Berlin weekend. Present in the top 6 at the end of the groups, despite an unfavorable passing position earlier in the session, JEV, last to record a time, outperformed all of his competitors.

With a time of 1’06”227, the double champion of the discipline took his first pole of the season. On the line, the Tricolore beat the defending champion António Félix da Costa by only 7 hundredths while Lucas di Grassi (Audi) completed the leading trio two tenths behind Jean-Éric Vergne.

Qualified among the six best, Norman Nato (Venturi) will start from 5th place this Saturday just behind his teammate Edoardo Mortara.

Author of the best time in the two free practice sessions, Jake Dennis (BMW Andretti) was unable to take part in the battle for Super Pole. Once sixth, the Englishman finally finished 8th after all the groups had passed.

Current championship leader, Nick de Vries (Mercedes) had a rather complicated session. Starting in the first group, the Dutchman was unable to do anything, settling for 19th place on the grid. He is now forced to come back to try to grab a few points in the fight for the title.
