GP2 – Alex Lynn wins his first pole

Stoffel Vandoorne (ART Grand Prix) will not take his fourth pole position of the season in Hungary. The Belgian, clear leader of the GP2 Series general classification before this sixth meeting of the season, was beaten in qualifying at the Hungaroring by GP3 Series champion Alex Lynn. The Briton who defends the colors of the French team DAMS, offered himself his first pole in the discipline, signing a best lap in 1'28″022, enough to beat Vandoorne by 19 thousandths.

The second line will be shared between the French Arthur Pic (Campos Racing) and the Italian Raffaele Marciello (Trident). Pierre Gasly (DAMS) moves up to third row alongside Briton Jordan King (Racing Engineering). Less success for Stoffel Vandoorne's runner-up in the championship, the American Alexander Red (Racing Engineering), only eleventh.

Nathanaël Berthon (Team Lazarus) takes 18th place, Norman Nato (Arden) finished 22nd. The main race in Hungary will take place tomorrow at 15:40 p.m.
