GP2 – Alex Lynn ahead of Vandoorne in Sochi qualifying

Alex lynn (Dams) won its second pole of the season after that of Hungary by snatching the best time in qualifying for the GP2 Series in Sochi (Russia) contested on a drying track.

With a time of 2'01"840, the Briton was ahead by 38 thousandths Stoffel vandoorne (ART GP) who failed to reach the starting line before the checkered flag to make a final attempt. The Belgian could win the title this weekend, two rounds before the end of the season.

Alexander Red (Racing Engineering) follows at three tenths, while Pierre Gasly (Dams) completes the second row ahead of his compatriot Arthur Pic (Campos Racing). Norman Born (Arden International) is in ninth place, more than a second from pole. Nathanaël Berthon (Lazarus) placed 20th.

Race 1 of the GP2 Series will be followed live this Saturday, October 10 from 15:35 p.m. (French time) on Canal+ Sport.
