Pierre Gasly scores another victory by winning the GP2 Main Race in Hungary. Antonio Giovinazzi secures the double for Prema Racing.

GP2-C1: Gasly returns to success

After Silverstone (Britain), Pierre Gasly scored his second victory of the season by winning the Main Race of the GP2 Series at the Hungaroring (Hungary). After starting from pole, the resident of Red Bull Junior Team retained the advantage by making a successful start and remaining in the lead ahead of their teammate Antonio Giovinazzi who gave Prema Racing a double.

The Frenchman takes advantage of the 11th place of Oliver Rowland (MP Motorsport) who started only 17th position to regain the lead of the Championship with seven points ahead of his teammate, while Oliver Rowland falls to fourth place behind Raffaele Marciello (Russian Time ) 19 units from the new leader.

Sergey Sirotkin (ART Grand Prix) completes the podium after starting from the front row. Raffaele Marciello took fourth place, finishing three seconds behind the top three, while Arthur Pic (Rapax) completed the top five ahead of Nobuharu Matsushita (ART Grand Prix).

After moving into third position at the start of the race, Norman Nato (Racing Engineering) fell to seventh place ahead of his teammate Jordan King who will start from pole in the Sprint Race. The Briton took advantage of the retirement of Jimmy Eriksson (Arden International) on the last lap while the Swede only started from 20th place.

The Sprint Race will be followed this Sunday July 24 from 10:30 a.m. on Canal+ Sport.
