GP2-C2: Felipe Nasr recovers at Silverstone

Felipe Nasr (Carlin) narrows his gap on Championship leader Jolyon Palmer (Dams) by winning Race 2 of the GP2 Series at Silverstone. The Brazilian took advantage of the poor start of pole sitter Stéphane Richelmi (Dams) to take the lead in the race. Conversely, the good reflexes of Stefano Coletti (Racing Engineering) allowed him to climb into second position. The Monegasque managed to defend his position against Johnny Cecotto (Trident) despite a loss of power in the final laps.

Jolyon Palmer (Dams) remains at the forefront, finishing just off the podium, leaving only seven points ahead of the winner and maintaining a gap of 38 points over the Brazilian. Julian Leal (Carlin) completes the top five after losing to the Briton, ahead of Stéphane Richelmi. Mitch Evans (Russian Time), the winner of Race 1, ranks seventh ahead of Marco Sorensen (MP Motorsport) and Stoffel Vandoorne (ART GP). Nathanaël Berthon (Venezuela GP Lazarus) finished 13th while Arthur Pic (Campos Racing) retired while trying to overtake Takuya Izawa (ART GP).

Takuya Izawa and Adrian Quaife-Hobbs received a penalty after Race 2 of the GP2 Series at Silverstone, won by Felipe Nasr. The ART GP driver will have to move back five places on the Hockenheim grid for his contact with Arthur Pic (Campos Racing) while the Rapax team rider fell to 15th in the event after taking a 20-second penalty. .
