GP2-C2: Jordan King resists Luca Ghiotto

Repeatedly for Jordan king. The Racing Engineering resident, winner of the sprint race in Austria last week, repeated his performance this Sunday at SIlverstone, despite pressure from Luca Ghiotto and the arrival of rain.

Starting from pole under the reverse grid rule, King led the proceedings from start to finish, perfectly holding off the Trident driver, who returned to second position after getting rid of Oliver Rowland (MP Motorsport) and Nobuharu Matsushita ( ART Grand Prix).

The former GP3 driver could never overtake the leader, despite the downpour at the end of the race, and King finally crossed the line half a second ahead of Ghiotto. Oliver Rowland completes the podium ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi (Prema Racing) and Matsushita.

Winner yesterday in the main race, Pierre Gasly (Prema Racing) finished 7th, while Arthur Pic (Rapax) took the final 11th place. Norman Nato (Racing Engineering) did not have the same success, ending his race in the gravel trap, after going too wide on the wet Silverstone track.

The gaps are closing at the top of the championship since Oliver Rowland, now the new leader, has a lead of 79 points over Giovinazzi and five over Gasly, one of the big beneficiaries of the British weekend.
