Arthur Pic (Campos Racing) has long thought of heading towards his second career success in the GP2 Series after his victory in Hungary in 2014, this Sunday morning at Monza in Italy. Author of a better start than pole sitter Jordan King (Racing Engineering), the Frenchman took control of the race and held the reins of the event until the last lap.
A final loop which will prove fatal for the 23-year-old driver, who will have to give in to the attacks of the New Zealander Mitch Evans (Russian Time) at the start of the first chicane. Despite Pic's attempts to recover his property, Evans will defend his position perfectly to win his first race in 2015, the first since Germany last year.
Stoffel Vandoorne (ART Grand Prix) signs a new podium by rising to third position and takes advantage of Alexander's setbacks Red (Racing Engineering), involved in an incident with Robert Visoiu (Rapax) which caused the safety car to enter the track, to once again widen the gap in the championship against the American.
Pierre Gasly (DAMS) forced to start from the pit lane, finished 13th while Norman Nato (Arden), fighting at the start with Arthur Pic for first place, quickly gave up, his car letting out a large plume of smoke. The next round of the GP2 Series will take place on October 10 and 11 in Sochi, Russia.
