GP2-C2: Valsecchi loses his pole to Calado

James Calado will again start from pole in Race 2 after starting from first place in Race 1. The Briton retained the advantage at the start and managed to widen the gap before losing everything with the intervention of the safety car. The Lotus GP driver had finished in ninth place but the penalty imposed on Davide Valsecchi allowed him to take pole for Race 2. The Dams driver overtook the safety car when it first came to the circuit for that the commissioners evacuate the car by Fabrizio Crestani (Venezuela GP Lazarus). The Championship leader maintains a 20-point lead over Luiz Razia (Arden International).

The Italian, who received his second penalty this weekend, was not the only one to have suffered the wrath of the stewards. Jolyon Palmer (iSport International) was penalized ten places on the grid for causing Fabrizio Crestani's accident. The Briton will start from the back of the grid since he retired following contact. Josef Kral and Johnny Cecotto Jr, 16th and 19th respectively, were excluded from Race 1 for using the tires allocated to their teammate.
