The calendar for the next GP2 Series season is now known. In addition to selected European rounds of the F1 World Championship, the series will travel to Abu Dhabi for the final round of the season.

GP2: final in Abu Dhabi

After two test sessions, at Le Castellet and in Barcelona, ​​the 2010 GP2 Series season will begin in Catalonia, on May 8 and 9, during the return to Europe of the Formula 1. Then, the GP2 drivers will follow their elders in the European rounds of the F1 world championship: Monaco, Turkey, Europe (Valencia), Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Belgium and Italy. In addition to these destinations, GP2 will make a detour to Portugal on July 19 and 20. The F1 anteroom will take over Portimao, a circuit already renowned and appreciated by many drivers. The season will finally end in Abu Dhabi, during the weekend where F1 will also close its season. In total, eleven weekends for a total of 22 races.

In addition to this announcement, the GP2 Series announces the selection of twelve teams for the next season. As expected, the Durango team, for which Nelson Panciatici drove last year, does not appear on the list. . Like this year, France will be represented by two teams, ART Grand Prix and DAMS. The ten other teams: Barwa Addax, Super Nova Racing, Fat Burner Racing Engineering, iSport International, Rapax (ex-Piquet GP), Arden International, Ocean Racing Technology, Team Coloni (ex-FMSI), Trident Racing and DPR. The ART Grand Prix team, which has already announced its two drivers, Sam Bird and Jules Bianchi, should once again be among the top teams.
