GP2 – Gutiérrez keeps his title hopes alive

The Mexican from the Lotus GP team thus consolidates his third place in the general classification, with 18 points ahead of his teammate James Calado and keeps his title hopes alive, since he is 46 points behind Luiz Razia. Knowing that a maximum of 48 points are distributed during each race weekend, everything is still possible for Carlos Slim's protégé.

« Qualifying was exciting because it started on a wet track and I saved my tires while waiting for the line to dry, explains Gutiérrez. The grip wasn't great and I finished in 7th place. I had a good start, I was 4th, but the decision to delay our pit stop was not rewarded. Starting from pole in the second race, I took the lead and attacked when necessary, taking my foot off when I wasn't under pressure. The team asked me to do my best to try to have the best lap in the race and I'm happy to have succeeded! The championship is not over, we must keep this momentum for the next races, in Belgium. »
