GP2: Best time for Jakes

James Jakes (Super Nova) set the best time on the second of three days of winter testing on the Paul-Ricard circuit in Le Castellet on Wednesday. Among the French present, Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix) set the third time in the afternoon.

GP2: Best time for Jakes

Several drivers appeared this Wednesday for the second day of winter testing including Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix), Roldan Rodriguez (Racing Engineering), Marcus Ericsson (Arden), Josef Kral (Super Nova), Kazimeras Vasiliauskas (Trident) , Andrea Caldarelli (Party Poker) and Antonio Felix da Costa (Ocean Racing).

After a first day which saw Michael Herck (DPR) stand out during the day's two sessions, the day was marked by the performance of James Jakes who set the best time.

The drivers made numerous rotations and it was James Jakes who stood out in the morning by completing 21 laps, the fastest in 1:12:346. He beat Luiz Razia (Barwa Addax) and Michael Herck (DPR). The two Frenchmen present, Charles Pic (Fat Burner Racing Eng.) and Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix) set the 11th and 14th times of the morning respectively.

In the afternoon, the drivers left for a new session. This time, it was Luiz Razia (Barwa Addax) who climbed to the top of the timesheet with a lap completed in 1'12″416. He got the better of James Jakes and Jules Bianchi but did not manage to beat Jakes' time.

Testing will resume on Thursday for the last of the three scheduled days. the Briton Jon Lancaster will appear in the Dams team.
