GP2 – Pierre Gasly finally makes it happen

It’s a real feeling of relief for the Norman Pierre Gasly which must predominate after its victory in the main race of the GP2 Series on the British circuit of Silverstone. Starting from the first row behind pole sitter Norman Nato (Racing Engineering), the Frenchman played the strategy card to win, choosing to start on soft tires, when his rivals made the opposite choice.

After quickly stopping, the pilot of the lap Red Bull will reduce the gap on the leaders and regain control of the race after the stops of the leading drivers, and is ahead of his Prema Racing teammate Antonio Giovinazzi and Oliver Rowland (MP Motorsport). Gasly had not experienced the joys of the top step of the podium since the year of his Eurocup Formula title. Renault 2.0. Mitch Evans (Campos Racing) finished just off the podium ahead of Luca Ghiotto (Trident).

Norman Nato takes the final seventh place, while Jordan King (Racing Engineering), eighth, will be on pole for the sprint race tomorrow morning in Great Britain.
