GP2 – Sirotkin snatches pole from Gasly

Sergey Sirotkin (ART Grand Prix) took his third GP2 Series pole of the season after winning qualifying at Hockenheim (Germany). The Russian set a time of 1'22''193 and beat Pierre Gasly (Prema Racing) for a lead of 16 thousandths.

The Championship leader will start in front of his direct Championship rivals Raffaele Marciello (Russian Time) and Antonio Giovinazzi (Prema Racing). Oliver Rowland (MP Motorsport) and Alex Lynn (Dams) will start on the third row ahead of Norman Nato (Racing Engineering) and Nicholas latifi (Dams). Jordan King (Racing Engineering) and Marvin Kirchhöfer (Carlin) will complete the top ten on the grid.

The session was less prolific for Arthur Pic since the Frenchman only set the 18th time of the session, 1”2 off the benchmark.

Race 1 of the GP2 Series at Hockenheim will be followed this Saturday July 30 from 15:35 p.m. live on Canal+ Sport.
