GP2 – Sirotkin and ART GP take the lead

Author of the best performance this morning with a time established in 1'29″072, Sergey Sirotkin (ART Grand Prix) retained its reference in the afternoon, the tests having been disrupted by the arrival of rain.

Behind the Russian driver, the ranking has not changed compared to the morning session, Pierre Gasly (Prema Racing) and Alex Lynn (DAMS) completing the top three for the day. The Italian Raffaele Marciello (Russian Time) took advantage of a lull in the last part of the afternoon session (interrupted once following the exit of Gustav Malja (Rapax)) to put on the slick tires and sign the best time after the break in 1'41″863, a far cry from the times recorded this morning.

The drivers will return to the track tomorrow in Catalonia for the second of the three days on the program of these first pre-season tests in the GP2 Series.

The full results of the day can be found here.
