GP2 – Sirotkin takes pole against Giovinazzi

On the Spielberg route, Sergey sirotkin won a real three-way battle to gain pole position for tomorrow's main race in Austria. The Russian driver of the French team ART Grand Prix defeated the Prema Racing duo Antonio Giovinazzi – Pierre Gasly to secure his third pole in the discipline.

The former resident of the Sauber fold in F1 achieved a best lap in 1'13 "663 and beat Giovinazzi by six thousandths while Pierre Gasly, the best time in the session, finally failed at 140 thousandths. The Frenchman was however hampered during his last attempt by Nicholas latifi (DAMS).

Luca Ghiotto (Trident) and Artem Markelov (Russian Time) completed the top 5 of the session, while Norman Nato (Racing Engineering) and Arthur Pic (Rapax) finished 9th and 13th. The main race will start tomorrow at 15:35 p.m.
