Grosjean: “Give victory to Dams”

The year 2010 of Romain Grosjean was busy to say the least. After starting the season in the FIA GT1 world championship, with two successes, the Franco-Swiss took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Spa. But very quickly, the call of the car was felt. At the request of the Dams team, he entered the Auto GP, where he won the title having only participated in four rounds out of five. The association between the former Renault resident F1 Team and the French team going well, Dams also called on him in GP2, a discipline where Grosjean has shone over the last two years. The champion F3 Euroseries 2007 did not take long to find its bearings as evidenced, among other things, by its podium finish at the end of the main race at Spa-Francorchamps at the end of August.

“It is true that from our first collaboration in Auto GP at Spa, the feeling passed immediately, both on a human level and on a sporting level, testifies the 24-year-old pilot. We work hand in hand. Several times, I went to the workshop to get to know the team better, to speak with the engineers and mechanics to continue moving in the right direction. It’s very positive! »

This weekend, on the Yas Marina circuit, Romain Grosjean will therefore make it a point of honor to conclude this 2010 season in the most beautiful way, in particular to thank the Dams team.

“The last race of the season is always a special moment that the driver shares with his team, continues the man who recently joined the Gravity Sport Management sector. We worked a lot and made good progress with the team during the races at Spa-Francorchamps and then Monza. I really enjoy driving and, after the podium in Belgium, I would really like to give Dams victory! »

The last round of GP2 will also be the last opportunity to show this year to the leaders of the various Formula 1 teams that he fully deserves a place in the premier discipline of motorsport, Romain Grosjean having never hidden this season that his objective was to return to the starting grid for the Grands Prix as soon as possible. He was also able to get back behind the wheel of an F1 car during the tests he recently carried out on behalf of Pirelli, the only tire manufacturer in F1 next year.

“Gravity Sport Management and I are trying to do everything possible to return to Formula 1, in good conditions, as quickly as possible. »

Williams Could F1 be the team that would give him his chance again? It is still too early to say, but Romain Grosjean is in any case part of the long list of candidates claiming a seat within Sir Frank's Team in 2011, as we told you about it last Wednesday.
