Grosjean joins Addax

The third pilot Renault F1, Romain Grosjean, will compete in parallel in the 2 GP2009 Series championship with the 2008 champion team, ex-Campos and now Barwa Addax Team, since its takeover by Alejandro Agag.

For his second year in the GP2 Series, Grosjean will make his debut in this new team alongside Russian Vitaly Petrov, who will be competing in his third season with the team.

The young Frenchman's motivation is simple, he intends to fight to win the championship title after a rather convincing first season in 2008 with ART, thanks to a 4th place and a GP2 Asia Series championship title in the end. He was also voted best “rookie” of the year.

“I am really happy to join the Barwa Addax Team this season. Driving for the 2 GP2008 Series champion team is a fantastic opportunity and we want to set the bar very high from the start of the season. The team welcomed me warmly, I think we have all the means at our disposal to achieve great things together! »

“Despite a busy schedule with the Renault F1 Team, my priority will be to win the championship and I think that with a little organization, we will be able to combine everything without problems,” he concluded.

The 2009 GP2 Series season will begin at the Barcelona circuit, in Spain, on May 9 and 10.
