Herta on pole in Portland, Newgarden and Pagenaud in the peloton

Rookie Colton Herta (Harding Steinbrenner Racing) has struck again. The 19-year-old driver took his second pole position in IndyCar, Saturday August 31 at the Portland circuit (Oregon).

Colton Herta will be ahead of Will Power (Penske) and Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi) on the starting grid. 

Concerning the championship, the main favorites are the leader Josef Newgarden (Penske) and simon pagenaud (Penske, 2nd at 38 points) drew. The two teammates were eliminated at the start of qualifying. The Frenchman, 18th, will start behind his opponent (13th).

Third in the general classification with a delay of 46 units, Alexander Red (Andretti) does the right thing with a seventh beat. Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) will start 12th.

The Portland Grand Prix will begin at 21:30 p.m. French time this Sunday, September 1.
