HWA arrives in 2020 and will replace Arden on the grid

The FIA ​​starting grid F2 will see the arrival in 2020 of a new team with HWA Racelab. Ulrich Fritz's structure was already involved in the series of accession to the F1, in technical support of the BWT team Arden during the last season, but this time will be present in her own name.

The German team will take over Arden's entry rights and will be able to draw on his year of experience spent alongside the British team. This is a new step for HWA, arriving in FIA F3 last year, and present in Formula E in 2018-2019 before the arrival of Mercedes-AMG for the 2019-2020 campaign.

“We are looking forward to taking on this challenge in another series aimed at young drivers,” comments Ulrich Frtiz. Alongside our involvement in FIA F3, we are also represented at the top level of the FIA ​​pyramid, which ensures the development of our young motorsport talents.

It is also further proof of HWA’s 360° expertise in motorsport. From the promotion of young drivers to Formula E, including racing DTM and GT, we now cover an incredibly broad spectrum. »

HWA Racelab fielded Bent Viscaal, Jake Hughes and Keyvan Andres in FIA F3 this year. Hughes was the most active this year, winning the Red Bull ring.

Arden, who lined up the late Anthoine Hubert and Tatiana Calderon and will explore other options for his future. “Arden has successfully participated in the F1 entry pyramid for over 20 years and we have now decided to withdraw from the category in order to explore other avenues, comments Garry Horner, director of Arden.

We enjoyed our time in the GP2 and F2 championships and, at some point, we might consider returning to the grid. Never say never… "
