Indy 500 – Spencer Pigot will find Juncos Racing

Promoted to IndyCar Series in 2016, at the time under the colors of Team RLL for a partial program, Spencer pigot This year, he competes in the road and urban events in the No. 12 DW20 of Ed Carpenter Racing – Chevrolet.

The 23-year-old driver will add the Indianapolis 500 on May 28 to his calendar, lining up at the start under the colors of Juncos Racing, on the #12 DW11 – Chevrolet. A well-known team of the Californian, Pro Mazda champion in 2014, then Indy Lights in 2015 with cars prepared by Ricardo Juncos' men.

“Ricardo taught me a lot, continues Pigot. He was never afraid to tell me if I was doing something wrong and to congratulate me when I did something right. It definitely has an importance in my racing career and I grew up with this team.

We have had a long and successful relationship since karting up to the Mazda Road to Indy series (the IndyCar Series pyramid) and we hope to repeat these successes at Indy this month.

The Indy 500 is the greatest race in the world and to be able to drive there again is fantastic. Last year was my first and I learned a lot. I am convinced that I will be able to apply these skills and achieve a better result this time. »

Juncos Racing has taken possession of three chassis and aero kits previously owned by KV Racing, Sébastien's former team Bourdais and which ceased operations before the 2017 season, and is expected to announce a second pilot this week.

Spencer Pigot took 25th place last year on the Indianapolis oval.
