IndyCar-C2: Castroneves and Power do double duty in Detroit

Helio Castroneves took advantage of a good strategy to win the Race in Detroit and put himself back in the title race after starting from third position. The Brazilian was not worried at the end of the race by his teammate Will Power who preferred to secure a double for Team Penske after winning the day before.

The driver of the #12 DW12 also received a drive-through for overtaking too aggressively on simon pagenaud (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports) and Josef Newgarden (Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing). This excellent weekend for the Australian allows him to climb to the top of the Championship with a 19-point lead over Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) who experienced yet another disastrous race with an accident during qualifying and a retirement on electric problem.

After his retirement in Race 1, Simon Pagenaud recovered well by taking seventh place behind Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) and James Hinchcliffe (Andretti Autosport), which allows him to maintain his fourth position. On the other hand, Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing) had to retire following contact with the wall.
