IndyCar – Conor Daly aims for a full-time seat

Passed through the Star Mazda Championship (the third division of IndyCar Series), where he won the title in 2010, the American conor daly had taken charge of the GP3 Series, then the GP2 Series in 2011. The Indiana native is coming out of a mixed 2014 season in GP2 with the Venezuelan GP Lazarus. Lined up this week at Sebring, Florida during IndyCar testing with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, Daly is aiming for a full-time seat, in a series where he started in 2013 at the Indianapolis 500 (with AJ Foyt).

“I have never prepared so much for a day in my life, explains the 23-year-old driver, who had competed with the SPM in a few Indy Lights events in 2011 (with a victory in Long Beach, California, Editor's note). It’s the dream and the goal to compete full-time in IndyCar. This is a great start with this testing opportunity. »

The American is engaged this week alongside James hinchcliffe, which will evolve in DW12 n°77, piloted last year by French simon pagenaud, left at Penske. “My last time in a car on a road course was two years ago, but to already be in the rhythm of 'Hinch' is great. I know it's pretty late in the offseason and Sam has a lot of things going on, but I'm here to give the best impression and do the best I can. »
