IndyCar – James Jakes returns with SPM

The name of the driver who will take his place alongside James hinchcliffe in the No. 12 DW7, driven last year by Russian Mikhail Aleshin, is now known. It's the ghost James Jakes, 27, who will officiate on behalf of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports on the 16 meetings of the 2015 calendar. The Briton took part in his last race in 2013 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

“The SPM team has done a fantastic job over the past few seasons, and I hope to continue this progress. I think with James (Hinchcliffe) we can take the team to the top. I'm excited to be able to work with him, as well as to be able to help Honda maximize the potential of its aero kit. »

Sam Schmidt praises the qualities of the Briton. “Even having been out of the car for 16 months, James was immediately fast on the NOLA (in Louisiana, Editor’s note) and contributed to the success of these tests. »

The James pair will start the championship IndyCar 2015, from March 27 to 29 in St Petersburg, Florida, following the cancellation of the opening event initially planned in Brasilia.
