IndyCar – Juan-Pablo Montoya opens the ball in St Petersburg

The Penske team's triumph is almost complete in St Petersburg, Florida at the end of the opening round of the 2015 season in IndyCar. Starting from pole and long leader, Australian Will Power finally saw his teammate Juan-Pablo Montoya come and steal the show after the last passage through the pits. The old pilot F1 took back control of the race to never let go and get ahead of the outgoing IndyCar champion, who tried everything to regain the lead, even coming into contact with the Colombian in the final laps and damaging his front wing in the process. This is Montoya's second victory since his return to the discipline last year, where he won in Pocono (Pennsylvania).

The Brazilian Tony Canaan (Ganassi) comes to interfere on the podium in front of his compatriot Helio Castroneves (Team Penske). The French simon pagenaud (Team Penske) and Sébastien Bourdais (KV Racing) place 5th and 6th after competing on the track and completing a 6% Chevrolet top 100. Bourdais also achieved his best result on this route.

Less success, however, in the Honda clan in Florida. The American Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) places the first DW12 equipped with the Japanese kit in 7th position ahead of Briton Jack Hawksworth (AJ Foyt Enterprises? Honda). The Italian Luca Filippi (CFH Racing – Chevrolet) first rookie, and the American Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport? Honda) complete the top 10.
