IndyCar – Juan-Pablo Montoya: “Penske deserves the title at the end of the season”

Looking at the general ranking of theIndyCar after the Pocono weekend, it is clear that Roger Penske's team is in a strong position. With Will Power and Helio Castroneves leaders tied on points, and Juan-Pablo Montoya 4th behind the Frenchman simon pagenaud (Schmidt Peterson Motorsports) still excellent 3rd, the armada of the team based in North Carolina impresses.

Winning his first race since returning to IndyCar this year, Montoya, who won the fastest 500-mile race in history, believes Penske's dominance should be rewarded. “I think Roger deserves the title. The last three or four years they were close but didn't materialize. If the biggest problem we have at the end of the year is who is going to win the championship, that's a good problem to have. I think Roger is the man for the job. Everything he does is amazing. He's an example for everyone, and for me, I'm not saying that because I'm running for him. I knew Roger a little, but it's even more incredible now that I'm working with him. » explains the former pilot F1.

With this success, his second after the 500 Indy 2000, Montoya returns to 55 points behind his teammates in the championship while there are six meetings remaining this season, three which will be run on ovals and three on road/urban circuits.
