IndyCar – Marco Andretti shines in Milwaukee qualifying

This is the sixth different pole-sitter in nine races. Marco Andretti took pole position during Milwaukee IndyFest qualifying by completing his best lap of 42 (8584 mph) on the mile-long oval. Thus making his father, Michael, owner of the stable that bears his name, happy. “Until now, we couldn't do better”, declared the man of the day. “I think my car will be hard to beat. A victory would be huge. I told my dad that this pole is hopefully just the first part of my Father's Day gift (which falls on the same date in the United States as in France this year, Editor’s note) ! »

The men from Andretti Autosport are definitely in good shape as James Hinchcliffe is second, ahead of Will Power from Team Penske. With this performance, Marco Andretti gains an additional point in the Drivers' standings, and is slowly getting closer to the leader, Helio Castroneves, qualified far away, in 18th place.

As for the French, simon pagenaud and Tristan Vautier, both with Schmidt Motorsport, rank 9 and 10 respectively, while Sébastien Bourdais (Dragon Racing) is 14th. For her return to Dale Coyne Racing, Ana Beatriz qualified in 20th position.
