IndyCar – McLaren would be interested in a full season according to Mark Miles

The quartet Fernando Alonso - McLaren – Andretti – Honda was one of the major centers of interest at the Indianapolis 500 last May, with the Spanish driver's debut in the American series and on the legendary oval event. A successful first for the double world champion, who was on pace despite dropping out during the race.

As soon as the Spanish driver's participation in the Indianapolis race was announced, Mansour Ojjeh, one of those responsible for Woking, admitted that this unique round on the 2017 program could well be followed by a Greater McLaren involvement in the series in the future. Statements recently followed by that of Mark Miles, boss of IndyCar Series.

Mutual desires

If Alonso has made no secret of wanting to return to Indianapolis, the Spaniard's contract with McLaren in F1 will come to an end at the end of the year, and nothing has yet officially filtered out on the future of Iberia. Mark Miles would welcome the presence of the former pilot Renault et Ferrari in his championship.
