IndyCar – Mike Conway joins Dale Coyne Racing for Detroit

We haven't seen him in this series since his short visit in April at Rahal Letterman Lanigan. Mike conway joins Dale Coyne Racing and finds the IndyCar Series for a freelance, this weekend, on the Belle Isle road circuit, in Detroit. He will join Justin Wilson, with whom he already teamed up in 2010 at Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. “I am very grateful for this opportunity with Dale and I am very looking forward to racing this weekend where I will have two races to fight with the other competitors”, underlines the British pilot, who is also racing the entire WEC on a No. 03 Oreca 26-Nissan from G-Drive Racing This year. “Being all the time in a car I miss teaming up with Justin again (Wilson, Editor’s note) will be exciting for me”, concludes the former Honda test driver in Formula 1.

Until now, the No. 18 Dale Coyne Racing car had been entrusted to Ana Beatriz. Despite his memorable performance at the Indianapolis 500, his contract did not go any further this season. Dale Coyne wanted to thank the Brazilian for her good start to the season. “First of all, I would like to highlight the great work done by ?Bia? in the car ", notes the boss of the stable that bears his name. “I think it was beneficial to have Ana run several races simultaneously where she could really show her level of competitiveness, like in Brazil and Indy. We are also excited to have a road racing driver like Mike Conway (who no longer wants to drive on ovals since 2012, especially after the death of Dan Wheldon at the end of 2011, Editor's note) to join our efforts. Mike has demonstrated over the years that he is competitive on all types of circuits and we look forward to fielding our all-English team at Belle Isle”.
