IndyCar – Newgarden at Road America testing

The Road America event this weekend, for the return of the discipline to the famous Winconsin track, could mark another return, that of the American Josef Newgarden. Seriously damaged during the Texas event on June 12, before the round is postponed to August due to rain, the pilot of the Ed carpenter racing escaped with a broken collarbone and a fracture to his right hand.

However, the championship doctors gave the green light to Newgarden to test himself in free practice this Friday. A new assessment of his condition will be carried out after the session before making a decision for the race.

Ed Carpenter's team nominated JR Hildebrand as a replacement for the usual starter, and keeps the former Indy Lights champion ready to replace Newgarden in the event of an unfavorable opinion regarding his participation in the race.
