IndyCar – Scott Dixon on pole ahead of Will Power

After leading each practice session on the Watkins Glen road circuit (New York), Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) did not really surprise by taking pole. The four-time champion set a time of 1'22''5259 during the Fast Six and was less than half a tenth ahead of Will Power (Team Penske) who will start alongside him on the front row.

Sébastien Bourdais (KVSH Racing) confirmed its good claims by taking third place ahead of Helio Castroneves (Team Penske), while Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing) and Max Chilton (Chip Ganassi Racing) will form the third row.

simon pagenaud (Team Penske) narrowly missed qualifying for the final qualifying round, but the Championship leader will have to start from seventh in front of his teammate Juan Pablo Montoya.
