IndyCar – Sébastien Bourdais signs up with Dale Coyne Racing

The signing of Sébastien Bourdais with Dale Coyne Racing for the next season IndyCar Series is not a real surprise in itself. For several weeks, the future of Manceau seemed to be written more and more with the Plainfield (Illinois) team, as we mentioned in our pages (see Ah n°2081).

The confirmation therefore came this Wednesday and puts an end to a three-year collaboration with KVSH Racing, a structure with which the four-time Champ Car champion had achieved four successes at the wheel of Chevrolet-powered DW12s.

This agreement with Dale Coyne Racing will certainly bring back memories for the Frenchman, who drove the car of the team powered by the Honda unit in 2011, the year of its return to single-seaters on the other side of the Atlantic. The winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ford in GTE Pro, will not arrive alone within Dale Coyne's team.

“In 2011, Dale was the one who gave me the opportunity to return to IndyCar, and I'm looking forward to a very exciting second chance with this team, comments Bourdais. We were able to bring together an excellent group, including Olivier Boisson, who was my engineer for the last three years, as well as my former chief engineer at Newman/Haas Racing, Craig Hampson.

The addition of these two great engineers and friends to the existing Dale Coyne Racing team will, without doubt, give me an excellent chance to race at the front with a competitive car. »

Sébastien Bourdais will begin his collaboration with Dale Coyne Racing this week, with a test session at Gateway Motorsports Park (Illinois) tomorrow Thursday.
