IndyCar – Simon Pagenaud fears Sonoma

Winner again at the Mid-Ohio event, simon pagenaud returned to the victory that had eluded him since the Grand Prix of Indianapolis last May. An important success with a view to the title against his Team Penske teammate and rival Will Power.

The Frenchman managed to widen the gap again against the Australian and will begin the last quarter of the season in ideal conditions. The former SPM driver, however, wants to avoid any unpleasant surprises at the final round in Sonoma, California, which will offer double the points.

“We are 58 points ahead, and we arrive at ovals such as Pocono or Texas which I like, Simon Pagenaud explains to us in his latest column. If we manage to make a big impact in the next races, then our chances of winning the title will be great.

And we never know what might happen in Sonoma. I dread this race that counts double … I will therefore try to take shelter and keep my destiny in my hands at the start of this final…”

Before the final test of the year, the IndyCar Series will travel to Watkins Glen (New York), a track where Simon Pagenaud was able to test during the week. “It was important to come here to prepare the car for the race, admitted the Penske driver on the discipline’s website. It's definitely going to be a very important part of the championship. »
