Alex Tagliani leaves for Bryan Herta

Alex Tagliani signed 6 top tens and two pole positions in 2011, one of them having particularly marked the spirits since it was the first place on the starting grid of the Indianapolis 500. He had thus highlighted the colors of his former team Sam Schmidt Motorsports, which had provided significant technical support to Bryan Herta when he won this prestigious event with Dan Wheldon. The Canadian seems excited to join his new team whose owner is a good friend.

“I am very happy to drive for Bryan Herta Autosport”, comments the Canadian. “Having known Bryan for a long time, I can say that he is someone of particular integrity. I think he and Steve Newey (the team's co-owner) deserve to have a great team in IndyCar and I am honored to be part of the program for the 2012 season. It is also a huge honor to represent the Lotus brand as a partner. Lotus has a great history in motorsport. We have a lot of work ahead of us but it will be nice to be at the center of the engine and team developments. »
