Alexander Rossi believes he drove the best car of his career

First to cross the finish line yesterday at Road America, with a lead of more than 28″ over the competition led by Will Power (Team Penske – Chevrolet), Alexander Red not only won a race which allows him to come back almost level with Josef Newgarden (Team Penske) at the top of the general classification of IndyCar Series 2019.

The Andretti Autosport – Honda driver literally sent a strong message to his rivals before the final part of the season where the fight for the title risks once again being very close. The American believes he benefited in Wisconsin from a car unbeatable.

“Come to think of it, it’s probably the best race car I have ever driven, indicates the former resident of the F1. It was just a win we needed. After winning a race like we did and advancing our intentions, we will come together over the next two weeks and come back strong in Toronto. »

Having returned to seven points behind Newgarden in the general, Rossi will approach the next events with confidence and an end to the calendar where the Californian had notably compiled two victories at Mid-Ohio and Pocono, as well as a second place at the Gateway, all without leaving the Top 10 between Iowa and the Sonoma final.

“Road America was one of those days where everything went well, recognizes team boss Michael Andretti. We have good momentum, so we hope we can keep it going. »

But with the Penske armada, led by Josef Newgarden, Will Power and simon pagenaud, as well as the always formidable Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing), Alexander Rossi will undoubtedly find opposition ready to break this series of four consecutive podiums over the last four meetings for the 2018 vice-champion, who has only one objective: to climb the last remaining round to win the title.
