Alexander Rossi performs a good operation at Pocono

Certainly, Alexander Red (Andretti Autosport – Honda) brilliantly won the Pocono (Pennsylvania) race last night in IndyCar, but all thoughts were logically turned to Robert Wickens.

The Canadian from Schmidt Peterson Motorsports – Honda was victim of a serious accident at the very start of the race, violently hitting the protective fences after contact with Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport).

Evacuated to the hospital, the former resident of DTM suffers injuries to his legs, right arm and spine, as well as a pulmonary contusion.

The interruption of almost two hours to try to repair the fences delayed the resumption of the event, before Alexander Rossi set his pace during 180 of the 200 laps on the program and won by more than 4″ ahead of Will Power (Team Penske – Chevrolet.

The author of pole position was quickly overtaken by Rossi on the 6th lap after a first neutralization following contact between Graham Rahal (Team RLL – Honda) and Spencer Pigot (Ed Carpenter Racing – Chevrolet).

A success which allows Rossi to maintain his hopes of the 2018 title by coming back to 29 points behind Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing – Honda) 3rd yesterday ahead of Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan – Honda).

Josef Newgarden (Team Penske) completes the top 5. simon pagenaud (Team Penske) finished 8th.
