Bourdais back full-time with AJ Foyt

Sébastien's career Bourdais en IndyCar is not finished. While the Frenchman was due to make a few starts with AJ Foyt in 2020, the coronavirus and the AJ Foyt team's need to turn to paying drivers seemed to get the better of the quadruple Champ Car champion's adventure in the American discipline.

However, AJ Foyt announced the return of the tricolor for the last three events of the 2020 season, but also and above all, for the entire 2021 campaign!

“I am sincerely happy to be able to compete in these three final races in 2020, confided the participant of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020 with Risi Competizione on a Ferrari F488 GTE.

“2020 has been a very strange year so far and I can't wait to get back into the cockpit of the No. 14 Chevrolet-powered Dallara. »

The return of Sébastien Bourdais is planned for the Harvest Grand Prix on the Indianapolis road course on October 2 and 3. He will not replace starters Charlie Kimball and Dalton Kellett in Indianapolis, with AJ Foyt sending three cars to Indiana.

The founder, and incidentally four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, AJ Foyt, is delighted with this comeback. “I think he will be an asset to the team by far. We conducted trials with him earlier this year and he knew exactly what he wanted; Nowadays, it's a very important character trait in a racing driver. I look forward to working with him. »
