Fifth coronation for Scott Dixon

Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi) added his name a little more to the legend of theIndyCar Sunday in Sonoma, California. By finishing the IndyCar finale in second place, the New Zealander won his fifth title in the discipline. Only AJ Foyt did better (seven crowns).

Everything was decided at the start. Scott Dixon's main opponent, Alexander Red (Andretti Autosport), was the victim of contact with his teammate Marco Andretti (Andretti Autosport) in the first round. The 26-year-old American lost too much time in an additional pit stop to worry Scott Dixon.

Equipped with a new front wing and new tires, Alexander Rossi slowly but surely moved up to seventh place. Insufficient to catch up with the leader of the general classification, especially since the points were doubled for this last round of the 2018 season.

The race was not really lively as to who would win. Pole position holder Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) led 80 of the 85 laps without blinking. The two French riders finished in the leading group. simon pagenaud (Penske) concludes the season at the foot of the podium while Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) is sixth.
