Colton Herta becomes youngest winner in Austin

Colton Herta (Harding Streinbrenner Racing) became at 18 years, 11 months and 22 days the youngest winner in IndyCar, a first since Graham Rahal's success 11 years ago. Starting in 4th place for his third start in the discipline, the rookie remained at the front until finding himself in the lead of the race 14 laps from the finish after the mechanical problem encountered by Will Power (Team Penske) who started on pole.

Josef Newgarden (Team Penske) preserved his championship leadership position by claiming second place, while Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) completed the podium.

Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) made a strong comeback from 17th position to finish fifth behind Graham Rahal (RLL Racing). His compatriot simon pagenaud (Team Penske) was less successful, finishing only 19th ahead of Max Chilton (Carlin).
