Colton Herta dominates day 1 of testing in Austin

The pilots IndyCar were back in action yesterday for pre-season testing at COTA in Austin, Texas. Two driving sessions were on the menu, and Colton Herta (Harding-Steinbrenner Racing – Honda) showed himself to be the most energetic in chronometric terms.

The quasi-rookie (only one participation in IndyCar during the final of Sonoma in California in 2018) has completed his best lap in 1'46″625 in the second part of the day, where the entire peloton achieved its benchmark time.

Will Power (Team Penske – Chevrolet) fails more than four tenths ahead Helio Castroneves (Team Penske), which should be lined up at the start of the Indianapolis 500 this year, in addition to its program Endurance en IMSA.

The two Chip Ganassi Racing – Honda drivers follow, Felix Rosenqvist preceding Scott Dixon. simon pagenaud (Team Penske) is in 6th place in 1’48″058 when Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan – Honda) is further back in 1’49″223.

The drivers will return to COTA this Wednesday for two new driving sessions.
