Colton Herta on pole at Laguna Seca

Colton Herta won his third pole of the season in Indycar for the finale at Laguna Seca.

Colton Herta (Harding Steibrenner Racing) took his third pole of the season by winning qualifying for the final ofIndycar in Laguna Seca (California). The American who has just been confirmed next year at Andretti Autosport was ahead of Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) by 4 hundredths, while Alexander Red (Andretti Autosport) completed the top three ahead of championship leader Josef Newgarden (Team Penske).

simon pagenaud (Team Penske) took 6th position behind James Hinchcliffe (Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports). His compatriot Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) will start further back in 19th position.

Felix Rosenqvist (Chip Ganassi Racing) appeared to be in a position to go for pole, but the Swede was penalized for disrupting qualifying.
