The end of the 2019 seasonIndyCar looks very tight. Defending champion Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi) put himself back in the final fight by winning a forceps victory at Mid-Ohio, Sunday July 28.
The New Zealander defeated rookie and teammate Felix Rosenqvist for just 93 thousandths of a second, making it the third closest finish in the history of the discipline on a street or road circuit.
With his second victory of the campaign, the 46th of his career, Scott Dixon is 62 points behind leader Josef Newgarden (Penské). The latter only finished 14th following a collision with Ryan Hunter-Reay in the final kilometers.
The leading group stands in a handkerchief. Alexander Red (Andretti), took advantage of his fifth place to get back to 16 points. simon pagenaud (Penske) also performed well by scoring points for sixth place. The Frenchman is 47 points behind Josef Newgarden. As for Sébastien Bourdais (Dale Coyne Racing) finished in 11th place.
11 points closer to the head! Glad to see 2 Team Penske cars still in the fight for the championship! Only 4 races left! #indycar
