Austin Trials – Power in the lead, McLaughlin 3rd

The official tests ofIndycar in Austin (Texas) were generally limited to a single day following the rainy weather on Tuesday.

 

 

 

 

It was Will Power (Team Penske) who was the most comfortable on the Circuit of the Americas with a lap completed in 1'46''7603, just 8 tenths off his pole position last year.

“It’s always good, both for my team and for myself, to see that we are on the pace, said the 500 Indy 2018 winner. It was quite tense at the end with the red flags in particular, but that's the kind of thing you have to know how to manage. »

Alexander Red was the closest with 2 tenths behind. Reigning Supercars champion rookie Scott McLaughlin finished testing third ahead of teammate Josef Newgarden. Colton Herta completed the Top 5 ahead simon pagenaud (Team Penske). Sebastian Bourdais finished in 24th place.

The 27 drivers covered a total of 1480 laps in a single day.
