Felix Rosenqvist believes he was lucky in his accident

The first round of the Pocono event last Sunday in IndyCar was the scene of a major accident firstly involving the Alexander trio Red and Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport – Honda) – and Takuma Sato (Team RLL – Honda), before James Hinchcliffe (SPM – Honda) and especially Felix Rosenqvist (Chip Ganassi Racing – Honda) are collateral victims of the first clash.

The Swede was unable to avoid car of Sato, and began a crazy somersault in the protective fences. Transferred for check-ups to the medical center and then to the hospital, the former resident of the Blancpain GT Series and AKKA-ASP fared well, without serious injuries.

A happy outcome, on a track which saw the terrible accident of Robert Wickens a year ago, seriously injured in the spine. The Canadian also admitted on social networks that he no longer understood why the IndyCar Series continued to go to Pennsylvania.

Rosenqvist, for his part, considered himself to have avoided much more serious consequences. “I feel really lucky not to have any serious injuries after visiting the protective barrier, admits the Ganassi driver.

First of all, it's good to see that everything is ok after the medical exams. I just have some minor back pain and a bit of a headache. Hopefully I'll be back to normal in a few days. »
