Franchitti wins Milwaukee race

Starting from pole, Dario Franchitti was the favorite contender for victory on the Milwaukee oval. But the Scotsman was overtaken by Helio Castroneves (Team Penske), before the Brazilian was forced to return to the pits to change tires. The pilot of the car n°10 then took off in the lead. “It was a very difficult race that required a lot of work”, comments the winner.

Graham Rahal (Service Central Chip Ganassi Racing) finished second, 1??4 behind the reigning Champion. The American is happy with his result, after starting from 12th place at the start. “We keep improving”, declares number 12. “When we are racing, we can fight with (the leading drivers). »

Will Power (Team Penske) fails at the foot of the podium behind Oriol Servia (Newman/Haas Racing) after starting from 17th position. The Australian, who is ahead of Danica Patrick (Andretti Autosport), admitted to having been both helped and disturbed by the restarts which animated the race. Tony Kanaan (KV Racing Technology-Lotus), who was in the lead for part of the race, caused some trouble after his retirement in the final laps.
