What do you think is its main quality?

He's not perfect, no one is. But when he comes home in the evening, he always puzzles over whether he could have done better here or there. I remember a city race, during which the car was difficult to drive. We did not see the finish due to a technical problem. So he had nothing to do with it. But, two months later, he came to see me and told me that he hadn't been very good. It was true, but I really appreciated the fact that he admitted it...

Did you call Roger Penske to remind him of what you told him about simon pagenaud ?

No, because I wanted to keep Simon in the Honda fold. I work for Honda, so obviously seeing him leave (Penske is tied to Chevrolet) was difficult. Losing a driver of his caliber, for a team like a manufacturer, creates a void...

Has what he did this season impressed you?

I never doubted his talent. But I am forced to admit that, at times, this year, he has been very impressive in his mastery. And this during entire meetings. Because in IndyCar, victory is not only built during the race, but throughout the weekend…
