Indy 500 – Jay Howard back with SPM

Jay Howard will compete for the second year in a row in the Indianapolis 500 (May 27), once again engaged with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. The 37-year-old Briton has already entered the biggest American race five times but has only been able to take part in the event three times.

In 2008, Jay Howard passed rookie tests with Roth Racing before being replaced by John Andretti. The following year, he failed to qualify when representing the interests of Sarah Fisher Racing. His best result remains a 30th place in 2011 with RLL Racing/Sam Schmidt Motorsports. He took 33rd place last year while still playing with SPM.

Jay Howard will compete alongside James Hinchcliffe, Jack Harvey and Robert Wickens who came very close to the feat at the GP in St Petersburg (Florida) this month. He will wear the number 7 in the colors of sponsor One Cure.
