Indy 500 – Pippa Mann returns to Indianapolis

For her first and only appearance at the Indianapolis 500, in 2011 with Conquest, Pippa Mann finished in 20th place. Two years later, the 29-year-old Briton was offered by Dale Coyne Racing a second opportunity to shine during this great American classic. She joins Justin Wilson and Ana Beatriz in the squad.

" I am delighted, she exults. I first met Dale a few years ago, before arriving in the United States, at what were the last Champ Car tests at Sebring before the merger. We haven't lost contact since, and I was very close to finding an agreement to sit in the seat of one of his single-seaters for Bump Day last year. A year later, we managed to put this program together. I can’t wait to race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May. »

A happiness shared by his new boss, Dale Coyne. “We have known and followed Pippa since she was interested in coming to the United States and was eyeing theIndycar. His work and involvement are most commendable and have produced results. She qualified for the Indy 500 (in 2011. Editor’s note) and took pole on the same Indianapolis oval in Indy Lights before winning at Kentucky. »

With Ana Beatriz and Simona de Silvestro, there could be three women at the start of the premier event of the IndyCar Series on May 26.
