Indy 500 – Will Power dominates Carburation Day

The Australian Will Power, outgoing champion IndyCar, set the best time in the Carburation Day test session, the last confrontation on the track before the start of the Indianapolis 500 this Sunday at 18:15 p.m. French time. The pilot of the Team Penske? Chevrolet, who will start second on the grid this weekend, completed a best lap at 229,029 mph (368,586 km/h) average and ahead of the two Dallara DW12s? Chevrolet of Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan (Chip Ganassi Racing).

simon pagenaud (Team Penske) climbs into fourth position ahead of the first representative of the Honda clan, the Japanese Takuma Sato (AJ Foyt Enterprises). Charlie Kimball, Sage Karam (Chip Ganassi Racing), JR Hildebrand (CFH Racing – Chevrolet), Gabby Chaves (Bryan Herta Autosport – Honda) and Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) complete the top 10 where only two single-seaters equipped with the Japanese block appear.

Called up to replace Carlos Huertas, victim of an inner ear problem, Tristan Vautier (Dale Coyne Racing? Honda) takes 18th place while Sébastien Bourdais (KV Racing? Chevrolet) finished 25th.
